COMPACT-PROJECT

COMPACT-PROJECT.PL SP. Z O.O.  was established in 1989 as a limited liability company, on the initiative of Jerzy Pakuła, PhD. Eng. The first years of activity were spent on preparing comprehensive documentation for general and industrial construction projects.

Since 2011, the Company's activities have been focused on solving design and implementation problems related to metal structures and technical infrastructure of the telecommunications industry, which resulted in 2012 in the development of our own original structures in the form of lattice towers: CP-U, CP-R and CP-T1 and CP-T2 series for one of the largest mobile operators in the world.

In June 2011, Jacek Szafran D.Sc. Eng. started to be and still is the main designer and proprietor of the company. From then on, the company focused on solving design and construction problems related to metal structures and telecommunications facilities, which resulted in the creation of the company’s original structures in the form of lattice towers in 2012: series CP-U, CP-R and CP-T1 and CP-T2 for one of the largest mobile operators in the world.

You can see film about our own structures - lattice towers - series on our YOUTUBE channel:

In 2015, COMPACT-PROJECT.PL SP. Z O.O., under the leadership of the author and research manager, Jacek Szafran D.Sc. Eng., carried out a series of experimental research involving the controlled destruction of lattice tower structures. Testing such facilities in their natural size (in this case 40-42 m) is a unique process not only in Europe but also worldwide. The outcome obtained is used on a daily basis in designing and optimizing structures, which allows for significant financial savings in the modification of existing structures.

COMPACT-PROJECT.PL SP. Z O.O., in the period of its activity, has implemented a total of more than 500 structure modernization projects, more than 100 reinforcement projects allowing for safe use of the existing facilities, as well as more than 1 000 technical reports and expert opinions on the load-bearing capacity of the existing facilities included in the technical infrastructure of mobile base stations.

COMPACT-PROJECT.PL SP. Z O.O. has also nearly 30 years of experience in the construction of facilities forming the infrastructure of mobile operators and data transmission providers. The company has built over 120 mobile stations.

Designing

In the design process we not only use the engineering expertise available, computational programmes and standards and regulations, but also focus on experimental research and cooperation with science in its broad sense. In our offer we have our own structures – lattice towers - series: CP-U, CP-R and CP-T1 and CP-T2, which were developed on the basis of the outcome of load capacity tests of actual scale telecommunications towers. The engineers employed with the Company focus on scientific development, thanks to which we can solve design problems using scientific and research theories.

Technical advice and upgrades

An indispensable part of technological and equipment modernization is also the reconstruction of the existing technical infrastructure to adapt it to the current requirements. The experimental research outcome used in computational analysis allows for a more accurate approach to designing, which generates financial benefits for the Investor.

By using the outcome of experimental research, the structure can be analysed for its weakest elements and the impact of additional loads caused by equipment upgrading.

Learning

In the design process we not only use the engineering expertise available, computational programmes and standards and regulations, but also focus on experimental research and cooperation with science in its broad sense. In 2015 under the leadership of the author and research manager, Jacek Szafran D.Sc. Eng. a series of experimental research was carried out involving the controlled destruction of lattice tower structures. The outcome obtained is used on a daily basis in designing and optimizing structures, which allows for significant financial savings in the modification of existing structures.

Conferences

Proceedings of the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS) Symposium 2015

The International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS), founded by Eduardo Torroja in 1959, is a non-profit organisation. Its goal is to make further progress through exchange of ideas among all those concerned in light structural systems such as trusses, masts, diaphragms and shell structures, in particular architects, engineers, builders and scientists. The Association accepts as members all individuals and organizations that share its goals. The Association annually organises international symposia on topics of interest to engineers, architects, builders and scientists, and publishes materials from these symposia on the Internet.

In 2015, on behalf of Compact-Project.PL Sp. z o. o. one representative of the company took an active part in the conference and gave his presentation.

Working Group 4: Technical Expert Group on Masts and Towers

In the 1960s, the development of broadcasting structures highlighted many design problems for high trusses and spatial structures. At the IASS meeting in 1969, a special working group (No. 4) was proposed to exchange ideas and experience and to make recommendations on the design of masts with guy ropes. The resulting recommendations, published by the IASS in 1981, now form the basis of many international design codes and have had a significant impact on practice in North America. By decision of the IASS Executive Board in 2014, the name of the IASS 4 Working Group was extended to read as follows: "WG4 Technical Expert Group on Masts and Towers." The idea of creating the Technical Expert Group is to emphasize that the main mission is to be an active team of technical experts interested in the analysis, design, construction and operation of masts and towers, and the name of the Working Group may suggest it is a team of people appointed to investigate and document some of the association's special problems. The overall mission of IASS WG4 is to encourage and synthesize presentations, reports and publications on projects and studies related to telecommunications towers and masts. Every two years, IASS WG 4 organizes international symposia on topics of interest to team members.

In 2019, on behalf of Compact-Project.PL Sp. z o. o. two representatives of the company took an active part in the conference and gave their presentations.

Scientific Conference of IASS Polish Chapters - Lightweight Structures in Civil Engineering (LSCE)

The series of conferences devoted to lightweight structures in Civil Engineering is a series of annual, international meetings organised by leading Polish scientific centres. The main aim of the conference is to enable joint meetings of scientists dealing with construction in the broad sense of the word, engineers, architects and students from different countries, whose joint meetings allow for the exchange of experience and presentation of the achieved results and implementations.
The subject matter of the conference is not limited only to broadly understood theoretical considerations, but also includes engineering issues related to new technologies in construction, execution problems, and presentation of completed facilities.

Representatives of Compact-Project.PL Sp. z o.o. have actively participated in subsequent editions of "LSCE", continuously since 2008.

Conference of Computer Methods in Mechanics (CMM)

A series of conferences devoted to the tradition of scientific meetings on mechanics, initiated in 1973 in Warsaw. The conferences present the current state of research in all disciplines of classical and quantum mechanics, solid and fluid mechanics, computational mechanics, applied mathematics and physics, as well as mechanics and structural engineering. Each edition of the Conference on Computer Methods in Mechanics (CMM) is a continuation of a 46-year-long series of conferences devoted to numerical methods and their applications to mechanical problems. The scientific meetings, held every two years since 1973, provide a forum for presentation of, and discussion on, new ideas on the theoretical basis and practical applications of computational mechanics.
